Turkish Student Organization @ Georgia Tech

In 2011, I joined the PhD program in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology. Before coming to Tech, I did not personally know anyone in Atlanta. However, thanks to the Turkish Student Organization (TSO), I had another family just after arriving at the Hartsfield-Jackson airport. TSO members helped me with everything from accommodation and transportation to course selection. The help provided by TSO was “priceless”. Therefore, to give back to the community and make sure that the new comers also have a family here in Atlanta. I officially joined TSO in 2013 as social chair and I have been the president since 2014.  I have organized and helped organizing events including but not limited to fundraising for students in need, celebrating important dates and organizing business forums with CEOs of Fortune 500 companies.

Below you can see some photos from executive board election, business forum with Coca Cola Enterprises CIO Esat Sezer, dinner with the consul general of the Republic of Turkey Ozgur Kivanc Altan and multicultural festival with congressman John Lewis.
